Catalogs and electronic resources

The Library of the Department of Literature and modern Cultures offers its users access to resources shared with the Sapienza Library System.

The sections of the Library of the Department of Modern Literature and Cultures adhere to NILDE (Network Inter Library Document Exchange), a platform through which it is possible to submit the request for the supply of documents (Document Delivery).

The main catalogs and electronic resources available to the Sapienza community and external users are listed below:

  • OPAC SBN (National Library System) - catalog of documentary material owned by Italian libraries;
  • OPAC Sapienza - catalog of the documentary material owned and the services offered by the libraries of Sapienza - University of Rome;
  • ACNP Sapienza (National Collective Archive of Periodicals) - catalog of journals owned by the participating libraries of Sapienza - University of Rome;
  • IRIS Sapienza (Institutional Research Information System) - repository containing the publications of the teaching staff and students of Sapienza - University of Rome;
  • R.O.SA (Sapienza Online Magazines) - platform containing scientific journals owned by Sapienza and published with open access.

  • MAI (Italian Metaopac Azalai) - platform for the cumulative querying of the catalogs of Italian libraries;
  • Karlsruhe Virtual Catalog - platform for querying national catalogs of the main library systems and digital libraries;
  • WorldCat - catalog of documentary material owned by thousands of member libraries from hundreds of countries around the world;
  • Internet Archive - non-profit digital library containing thousands of audio files, videos, images, ebooks, etc. freely downloadable and on loan;
  • Library of Congress - national library of the United States of America;
  • Internet culturale - platform for querying Italian digital libraries;
  • DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journal) - catalog of distributed open access journals;
  • ROAD (Directory of Open Access Scholarly Resources) - directory of scientific serial publications available with open access.
In addition, the projects developed by the Sapienza Library System (no longer updated) should be noted:
  • Sapienza Digital Library, containing thousands of digitized documentary materials from the University libraries;
  • Digital resources regarding Sapienza Digital Library, containing management data, information and metadata relating to the Sapienza Digital Library platform;
  • Mostre virtuali, section contained within the site of the Documentazione delle risorse digitali del progetto Sapienza Digital Library and containing links to virtual exhibitions curated and managed by the University libraries.
